Rough Creek Lodge with Events & Adventures Dallas

Take a Trip to Rough Creek Lodge with Events & Adventures Dallas

Events & Adventures Dallas had the getaway of their lives at Rough Creek Lodge & Resort, a lodge nestled on 11,000 acres in the foothills of the picturesque Texas Hill Country. The upscale lodge was finely decorated with sophisticated fabric, furniture and artwork to create a feel of elegance for the members. The ranch also offered many fun activities and amenities for the guests that brought them together in an exciting new way.

There was plenty for the members to do at this amazing resort, keeping them busy the whole weekend. A few of the members’ favorite activities included rock climbing, horseback riding, archery, hiking the nature trail, fishing and the 650-foot zip line! There were also more relaxing things for members to do including a pool, spa and lazy river. Since this event took place during Easter weekend, members also had to chance to decorate Easter cookies and take pictures with an Easter bunny that was wandering around the lodge.

The event managers provided homemade meals for the members throughout the weekend, so they didn’t have to worry about a thing; they were well taken care of! The staff were very friendly and made sure that food and drinks were available around the clock. There were so many activities that the members didn’t even have time to do them all.

It was a great time for everyone to find common interests and enjoy an action-packed weekend together

Toward the end of the weekend, everyone gathered around a fire pit to wind down and get to know each other even more. The members roasted s’mores and reflected on their amazing time at the lodge. In the end, members agreed that spending Easter weekend in the Texas Hill Country was something they’d never forget. It’s not every day that you get to ride horses, rock climb, zip line and order lunch at the poolside all in one weekend.

The members’ time at Rough Creek Lodge & Resort was stress free, making for the perfect environment to meet new people. Enjoying the crazy events with each other brought the members closer together and encouraged them to come out of their shells. With Events & Adventures, members simply show up and have fun. Rough Creek Lodge was no exception! We’re excited to offer our members more exciting getaways just like this one, and we can’t wait to share their experiences with you.

St. Patrick’s Day Party with Events & Adventures Phoenix

Experience A New Kind Of St. Patrick’s Day with Events & Adventures Phoenix

Why celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in one place when you can party on the go? This is exactly what Events & Adventures Phoenix did when members boarded a giant London-style party bus and took to the fun-filled streets of Phoenix. This event was an exciting time for members to let loose and get to know each other during a familiar holiday while gaining an entirely new experience!

The evening began at a local hotel where the members met up. The Real London Bus Tour Company provided the mode of transportation, which was a giant double-decker party bus. The bus was a replica of the classic red-colored buses that roam the streets of London. It had tinted windows, more than enough room for food and drinks and an impressive sound system so that members could listen to their favorite tunes. Irish rock music was a popular choice since everyone wanted to get into that St. Patty’s Day spirit.

This was just the beginning of their evening as the party bus toured the city of Tempe and West Mesa

The group went to four different bars where they had special discounts waiting for them. These discounts were offered to Events & Adventures members only, which gave everyone a feeling of exclusivity. The members played games at the bars and enjoyed making new friends over some drinks and laughter.

After each bar, the members boarded the party bus and headed for the next one. This event was a round-trip occasion so that members didn’t have to worry about transportation or car-pooling. The party was kept alive when they stepped back onto the bus as the members were greeted with food, music and dancing. By the end of the night, the members were dropped off at the hotel where it all began.

The St. Patrick’s Day Party by Events & Adventures Phoenix was an outstanding event with a great turnout

Over 40 members attended and ended up having the time of their lives. Getting around and worrying about traffic while trying to focus on having a good time is difficult, so why not have the way of transportation become the main event? Spending St. Patrick’s Day on a double-decker party bus was a fun and unique twist to the holiday. Events & Adventures gave their Phoenix members an experience that they’ll never forget. Get excited for our next great event!

murder mystery

The Murder Mystery with Events & Adventures Seattle

Events & Adventures Seattle had the amazing opportunity to be a part of Mystery Weekend 2018 in the city of Langley, Washington. The annual murder mystery on Whidbey Island was a new and exciting way for members to make friends and get out of town. Plus, who doesn’t love a good mystery? This year’s Sherlock Holmes type murder mystery invited members into an interactive experience as they attempted to solve a heinous crime.

The adventure began as members boarded a luxury ferry en route to the south side of Whidbey Island. During this enjoyable ride, they were given packets containing background information about their destination, the small town of Langley. Upon arrival, a local church offered the group a free breakfast, fueling them for the exciting day ahead. Each member received a local newspaper from the chamber of congress that detailed the murder and exactly what took place.

Now it was time to put their detective hats on and head out to gather clues

Townsfolk across the city were in character as the members asked them questions in order to solve the crime. The story was written by local authors and involved live actors roaming the streets as well as additional “suspects” including characters like the mayor, the police chief, shop keepers, the librarian and basically the whole city of Langley. Everyone was dressed in character, which added to the realism and fun of the event.

At this point, everyone split up into groups and toured the city looking for clues. Their first stop was the murder scene itself, which was roped off. The crime took place right outside of a new comedy club that was soon to be open to the public. Before the club even opened, the headliner was found dead on the doorstep. This set the stage for the members to begin their quest for answers and make new friends along the way as they worked together to solve the mystery.

The members had a great time touring the local shops, restaurants, hotels and other charming locations as they participated in such a unique event

At the end of the day, everyone came back together to bring the story to a close. Many of the member’s detective work paid off as they were able to successfully reveal the culprit behind the murder. The Langley Murder Mystery gave Events & Adventures Seattle the opportunity to make friends during an adventurous weekend. Visiting Whidbey Island was a chance for members to get out of town and experience new things with new people, we can’t wait until the next great event!

European Trip Pictures

Lezzlie’s Amazing European Trip

Read about our European trip from last fall through the eyes of Lezzlie, one of our great members

We just received a letter from one of our great members who joined us on our European trip last fall. We’re excited to share with you what she had to say:

“I loved it! I went on the Switzerland, Austria and Germany trip in September 2017 and I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun. The trip was very well planned. I would never have thought to do anything like that on my own. I also met some incredible people in the group who made the trip even more fun!

There were so many amazing things packed into the trip that it’s hard to remember them all

The area close to the hotel in Zurich was very quaint. Luckily, I found some girls who didn’t want to nap after lunch and we went bar hopping. Then we hung out in the hotel lobby with a bottle of wine which worked out wonderfully. No jetlag!

The bus tour of Zurich was very informative and gave us an opportunity to see some of the places farther away, while the walking part of the tour gave us the chance to experience the local sights. The highlights for me were the chocolates, cakes, and open air vegetable market.

The tour of Lucerne was fabulous

It’s such a charming city and we found some great beers there one Sunday morning.
The scenery was beautiful as we drove to Titlis. Once we got there, we all took the cable cars up to a giant rotating cable car near the top of the mountain. Also, at the top was a restaurant where we could arm ourselves with beers and food before enjoying Europe’s highest suspension bridge and the ice cave.

Lots of activities were offered in Interlakken, but we decided to take the train to Thun, which was very cool as well. There, I tasted the tiniest bite of horse tenderloin since one of the guys decided that was what he was ordering for dinner that night (gross…tasted like beef though).
Afterwards, one of us found the only nightclub in town and, of course, we closed the place down. It was a blast! Everyone was exhausted on the bus the next day.

The following day, we finally made it to Austria and found yet another club, partying until 4am or so. I missed the walking tour of Innsbruck the next morning, but one of the members took me on a personal tour later and pointed out the best sites as if she was the guide! It was a condensed version with a few bar stops in between. It was fun!

Then it was off to Neuschwanstein Castle, which was absolutely amazing (after you walked a mile or so up a steep hill and caught your breath). Coming down was much easier.

The scenery was beautiful and looked like it was right out of the Sound of Music

Lastly, we made it to Munich. Oktoberfest was incredible! Although Friday was fairly calm, we had lots of fun in the beer haus where we had lunch on Saturday.

Thanks so much, Events & Adventures, for this European trip, It was an unforgettable experience. I’m looking forward to Vietnam. If it’s anything close to this trip, it will be amazing! I can’t wait!”

Events and Adventures Dallas Singles Poker Crawl!

FW Sundance Square Poker Crawl3

Events and Adventures Dallas Poker Crawl

A poker run on a motorcycle has 5 stops where everyone gets a card to make a poker hand. A pub crawl is on foot and hits several bars. Mix them together with a group of singles and you get an Events and Adventures poker crawl! We don’t have as many people with motorcycles as with feet, so we hit Sundance Square on Saturday night. We were ready to play a game of poker and check out some of the local pubs. We started with appetizers and our first card. You really have no idea how things are going to until the third card. Then you know if you are in it or just there for the pub crawl the rest of the night. We hit some really cool places. Really nice and even a dive bar. How many people can you fit in an elevator? By our 5th stop everyone was impatient to get their card to see if they could make a hand or draw. Whew! So we all know most people cheat and trade cards right? Hmmm . .Who has the worst hand? The best hand? High card draw wins! Congrats Tanya, your very first event and you won!   FW Sundance Square Poker Crawl4

Minneapolis Singles Tackling the High Ropes Course

singles

Testing our wits is something we get to do almost every day, whether it’s being a new member of Events and Adventures and going to our first event or tackling a high ropes course, which is what we did this past weekend!  Climbing ropes, walking across a single rope as we balance and focus on the platform ahead, rope ladders and swings HIGH above the ground… and as we ziplined off our last platform, we were relieved that we had finished and proud of what we accomplished!  Plus, we could finally “look down” without freaking out a bit!  Always an adventure with this group of singles!

Events and Adventures Dallas Tackles Lil Ninjas Obstacle Course!

obstacle course

We checked out Lil Ninjas obstacle course and dodgeball Saturday night. This place was technically built for kids, but it was a blast! Some of the more advanced elements of this obstacle course were hard- and impossible for many!  We were the guinea pigs for glow in the dark dodgeball. Those balls never seem to stay glowing so they are changing it to black light. We wore glow necklaces and laughed about the walls attacking us when we were certain weren’t anywhere near them. A few of us made it across the unstable ladder. I was surprised I was the first! Gotta be smarter than the ropes. J The curved wall was a dream for most but a few made it up there! Since it was just us and not open to kids we were allowed us to bring beverages of intellect which made everything even funnier.  Those that didn’t want to play just came and cheered and jeered those that accepted the challenge. It was a great change from the weekend bar scene. Don’t get me wrong, I love the dancing and parties we have but it was something new, unusual and totally fun!

E&A Takes To The Skies…Skydiving With Our Seattle Club!

Events and Adventures takes to the skies! On the bucket list of so many is jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. SKYDIVING! It’s also one of the things that can be so hard to get yourself to do. Sometimes it takes gathering yourself up, getting in a group of friends and just saying “what the heck..I’m doing it” If you have never done it, it can be hard to believe just how hard it can be to step into a plane and take off knowing that the only way down now is out the door at 10,000 feet or more. You almost have to tell yourself to NOT listen to the voice in your head that is getting louder and louder saying “ WHAT ARE YOU DOING” and just think of something else … like a shopping list or what’s in your Amazon wish list or anything to keep your mind off the idea that you are soon going to be free falling out of a plane. Then once you DO actually get out of the plane it’s so amazing, and you want to get back in the plane and do it again.

Just another day at the office with Events and Adventures Vancouver….Kayaking!

vancouver singles kayaking

Just another day at the office with Events and Adventures at a truly amazing kayaking event at a little lake in the middle of Vancouver.  Despite major traffic and transit delays somehow every single member always has a great attitude and can’t wait to kayak to the middle of the lake and sit and chat for an hour.  Of course we have little races and get some exercise but it is really about the chats and companionship no matter how hard the day was.  We laugh and joke and then go out for some more at a nearby pub. It was a beautiful day and a splendid way to end it..with all of our E&A friends.
